  1. Re: Questions about stator tube and trafficator fixation

Just my personal opinion but I would recommend AH Spares and Ahead4Healeys over SC/Limora or Moss. They are specialists and offer much better service.

    Re: Repacking the muffler

I have the DWR side exit exhaust which has got louder to such an extent its right on the scrutineering noise limit of 105 db. They are expensive to replace so I'm interested in the re-packing option....

Re: 100/6 vs 3000 driving experiences

IMHO for any run of the mill Healey (ie not a famous works car, 100S etc) a replacement engine is no problem at all. There are many such cars around, mine included. Matching numbers is a concept...

Re: 100/6 vs 3000 driving experiences

The car has a replacement engine. BNL030660 is an early Longbridge car which would have had an integral manifold. The engine in the car is from BN4 53917 which had 6 port head and which fits in the...

    Re: Spark Plug Wire Caps

I once bought a set of 'bumble bee' wires with caps already attached, from one the UK major suppliers. The caps seemed too hard and plasticky and never fit as well as I thought they should. I removed...

    Re: Undercarriage Refresh

I would definitely recommend painting it body colour. I think the cars look odd if the floor or engine bays are a different colour to the car. Always makes me suspicious for some reason.

Re: Steering seal replacement on the car

I have done it but it is a bit of a struggle. The key is to find a suitably shaped and sized puller for the arm as there is very little space to work with.

Yes that is Mel and Mike Ward's car.

    Re: Gear Ratios

In terms of ratio there is in fact a big difference between 1st and 2nd gear. See the attached chart.

    Re: Which steering wheel ??

Moto Lita make excellent wheels and bosses. You need to buy the boss to be able to fit the wheel. The trafficator can be refitted into the Moto Lita set up without any problems or you can use the...

Re: AH 3000 activating the overdrive

The throttle switch isn't there just to be an extra bit of kit that could fail, it's there to ensure that the driver has to open the throttle when de-activating the overdrive. I don't have a...

The key comment in the article for me is that the boomers are/will be selling. That is also the market segment where Healeys sit. I've been saying to my Healey friends that prices will fall as the...

  18. Re: Outright Healey Win at the Rolex Monterey Historic Reunion

    Re: BN1 Steering Box Fluid

Vette, if that zero weight 'grease' really is a 'grease' then it shouldn't be used in the steering box. Grease gets pushed around and compacted and does not flow back into position. The Penrite and...
