  1. Re: Clutch Still Slipping after replacing 30W-Non-Det. for Red Line

I know my transmission leaks much more when filled to the full mark. Leakage is much better when the level is 1/2 or less. I don't know how the fluid level compares with the input shaft level, but...
  2. Re: Adjusting windows/tops etc. for comfortable highway travel

Rather than SPF 50 shampoo (since I have nothing to shampoo) a ball cap with a hat leash clipped to my collar works best.
  3. Re: Crossmember modification for DW Super Damper

ProRace says theirs is good to 18,000 RPM.

    Re: Hydraulic Brake Switch Internals

Yes, I have Kirk headers. They have a slip joint in one branch. I dripped some DOT 5 on that joint from a poor MC discharge fitting and it caught fire. Fortunately there wasn’t too much damage.

    Re: Hydraulic Brake Switch Internals

I found that silicone brake fluid does burn when exposed to exhaust gases.

When I modified my brakes to dual circuit, I had a leftover port on the 5-way coupling. I added a second pressure switch...

    Re: Michelotti Jaguar

Someone asked Donald Healey who was the Italian that designed the Austin Healey. Gerry Coker, of course, was not Italian, but was flattered.

    Re: Stop/Tail light wiring

The 6/21 designation for the bulbs isn't amps, it's candlepower - 6 candles for taillights and 21 candles for brake/turn signals. If you want brighter, you can go to the (American) hot rod guys and...

    Re: Seat belts in BN6

    Steve,

I can't elaborate too much, but they ran into a tree in their 100 and suffered severe facial injuries because their upper torsos were unrestrained. Dave Nock was there if you would like...

    Re: Seat belts in BN6

British Car Specialists sell three-point belts that retract. They mount in the "factory" locations as shown in the Bentley manual for later cars. After what happened to a couple of our club...

Re: Charging warning light LED conversion

Bob, the higher voltage will mean your lights will be a bit brighter and burn out a bit sooner. Other than that, it won’t make much difference.

    Re: Broken Spokes

The car isn't really hanging from the spokes. They are tensioned enough that the compression of the car weight reduces their tensile force, but not below zero. Loosening them WILL cause them to...

Re: Charging warning light LED conversion

I'm not sure the charge indicator light will work using a LED.

IIRC, the light goes out when the generator output voltage and battery voltage are closely balanced. When the generator isn't...

    Re: Some Basic Overdrive Questions

Because OD also works on 3rd, on windy roads where I would be frequently shifting between 3rd and 4th, I shift in and out of OD while in 3rd. (3rd to/from 3rd OD).
