    Re: Trafficator Wiring Question

    Steve,

Nice fix. That whole trafficator thing drove me nuts so I finally got rid of mine.

Bob, incorrect wiring will result in the dim brake light and bright flasher as you suppose. Ask me how I know.

    Re: Paint codes

Its your car so you can paint it however you want. In terms of resale value its best to stick to Healey production colours and BRG was an option for BJ8s, the fact that yours wasn't that colour...

    Re: Sealing my legroom

Water in the footwell is usually due to it dripping down from the scuttle and around the windscreen pillars. Its one of the joys of Healey motoring so don't bother trying to stop it - just carry more...

    Re: Seat belts in BN6

Is the location of the shoulder belt specific only to retractible belts. If so just use old style non retractible or fit a harness.

    Re: Proper Engagement of Overdrive

I have also never used the clutch when engaging or disengaging and I don't believe it was the idea to do so. The throttle switch is the built in protection for the system so that the overdrive is...

I used to use a rolled up towel for long journeys, which also came in handy to spread across my knees when it rained!!!

Re: which heater/ventilation control do what on a 3000?

If you want a cool interior then both knobs should be pulled out.

Re: Overdrive has a mind of its own

Sounds like the dash switch may be the problem and is permanently engaging overdrive.

    Re: Rawles wins again.

    Ray,

These cars run to strict series rules so I don't think anything will have been done to the steering other than ensuring it is all set up and working correctly. The wheels are 5 1/2 inch with...

    Re: Rawles wins again.

Check out what the Jack Rawles car looked like from the outside going round those corners. There were a lot of 'offs', unfortunately one for the Sebring 3000 MkIIa replica.

Video footage of Jack Rawles at Brands Hatch yesterday in the Equipe GTS Pre-63 race. Jack and Bill won and Jack had the fastest lap of the race. Very tricky conditions as a car from the previous...

The book says 20/50 Castrol GTX so just use and drive it.

The book says your car should have cross ply tyres. Are you still using them?

Castrol GTX 20/50 will do the job,...

I would take the opportunity to remove the trafficator altogether. Although it is an interesting piece of antique Bakelite IMHO it doesn't belong in a sports car. It is fiddly to install and use and...

100% agree with what Rick advised. What do you want to do in the car? Don't start your rebuild journey until you know where you are going.
