I'm looking at the '80 Bonneville,but I'm not sure
what my '78's worth,if I decide to buy it.
My '78 needs an engine rebuild,& is missing a few
parts (side stand,1 side exhaust,1 side cover,etc.),but
the tank is Red/Black,which I really think is one of the
nicest combinations.
I've partially dissassembled it,but everything is
in segregated boxes. The gas tank is in excellent shape, but
there's a few spots on the frame where the Black paint is
worn off.
Any ideas on what it's worth "as-is?"

NADA lists between $1800 - $6400 for a '79 T140E (fair - excellent). If that range is accurate I'd probably say $1500 but that's just a guess. Non running projects just aren't worth that much these days.

Doug,
A non running bike isn't worth a whole lot. IIRC the top end is off the 78? how many miles on it? could you get it running by just doing the top end? Take the money for the 8o and put it in the 78. That will be cheaper in the long run. And you get a nicer bike with the pretty red and black tank.

If you were not so far away i would make you an offer on the 78. Your other option is to part it out. could be worth more that way.
