I was watching an in car video posted by a Chris Foley, (unknown to me, but his car certainly has good acceleration!), of the E Production race at the SCCA Runoffs
from 2005 before they moved to Topeka from Mid_Ohio (why?)

Unfortunately a lot of mayhem, as seems to be more common these days, full course caution on lap 1, and a black flag followed by a restart later in the race.

Very exciting all the way through, the finale being that the leading Prelude is simultaneouly passed very late in the race by Sam Halkias in the TR6 on one side and a yellow Lotos 7/Caterham on the other, with the Caterham taking first and the TR6 second.
I think you may find the video at trackdaymedia/eprodrunoffs
or something similar.I suppose the venue has been changed because they want it nearer SCCA's head office, but a flat airport track can't compare with Mid-Ohio, or Road Atlanta.
JUst my opinion!
Simon.

Simon,

The video was posted by Chris Foley, an FP 914 racer, but the video was taken from Erik Madsen's 914-6.. I guess that would explain the brutal acceleration. Note him gobbling up the Elva Courier of Don Krafston (black car, right hand drive). There is an effort underway to put that car in FP.. for good reason. 200ishhp vs. 240+? Doesn't really sound right. The 4cyl TR's are also still classified in EP. If the Elva doesn't have a chance, does anyone really think a big ol' brick of a TR would? That's another argument for another time.

...fun video. EP appears at about the 3 minute mark with LOTS of coverage.

Thanks for the information, I noticed he was also very late on the brakes at the end of the straight, I guess the rearward weight bias of the mid-engined car helped there!
But the Caterham/Lotus still went round the outside, great racing.
