WTB: Wanted: Convertible top/hood front hook (at windshield) (http://www.panjo.com/buy/wanted-convertible-top-hood-front-hook-at-windshield-229269)

My mom has a 1966 Healey 3000 BJ8 and it is missing one of the hooks which is used to anchor the convertible top/hood to the front windshield when the top is up. I think it is sometimes called a J-hook. I don' t need the entire latch/clasp assembly, but just the hook that threads into the latch. It is basically a threaded rod with some particular bends to it. Every vendor I have checked wants to sell the entire assembly which is more than I need, and somewhat expensive. I know it is a needle in a haystack, but maybe someone has a spare kicking around that they no longer need. Thanks for your time.

Hi Rick-
Thanks for pointing that out. For whatever reason, I either missed it or forgot to check AH Spares. But yes, that is the part I need and it isn't absurdly expensive. On our side of the pond, everyone wants around $70 or more for the same part, which seems excessive for a bent bolt with the head cut off. But even with shipping, it won't be too bad from the UK. Thanks again for finding that for me.

My pleasure. We're still lucky enough as Healey folks to have some companies turning out repro parts that deserve our support.
